The SingCo Rhythm Orchestra

SingCo Rhythm Orchestra - Poster

Doug founded the SingCo Rhythm Orchestra in 1997 after performing in other big bands. The SingCo Rhythm Orchestra’s specialty is the American dance band repertoire of the mid 1920s – to about 1940.

No one else in the region plays hotter and more swinging charts from this time. Bands represented included the Coon Sanders Nighthawks, The Gus Arnheim Orchestra, The Duke Ellington Band, The Calloway Orchestras, Fletcher Henderson and many others. All of our charts are actual period charts or spot on transcriptions created by some of the best arrangers and transcribers around. You will NOT hear more authentic charts or more heated and passionate renditions of these tunes from any other band in the mid-Atlantic region.

Of course, we do also have hundreds of charts from the swing era of the 40s and 50s with Glenn Miller, Tommy Dorsey, Bob Crosby, Benny Goodman and others as well. And if you like those sensual latin rhythms…..we gotchya covered! Our favorite “iteration” is a 14 piece band, including string trio, but the SingCo Rhythm Orchestra can flex from a 10 piece 20s ensemble up to a 17 piece 40s style big band.
