The Retros are inspired by some of the great Boy\/Girl Vaudeville acts of the 20s and 30s and with Alex Hassan at the keyboard playing spot-on recreations of the style; these are evenings you won&#8217;t soon forget. All of our shows are authentic, energetic, engaging, touching and a lot of fun.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.dougbowles.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/05\/Retropolitan_1-e13073840933121.jpg\" rel=\"lightbox[100]\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright size-thumbnail wp-image-144\" title=\"The Retro-politans - Doug\" src=\"http:\/\/www.dougbowles.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/05\/Retropolitan_1-e13073840933121-150x150.jpg\" alt=\"The Retro-politans - Doug\" width=\"150\" height=\"150\" \/><\/a>At the moment our repertoire includes: <strong><em>Shak<\/em><\/strong><strong><em>in&#8217; the Blues Away<\/em><\/strong>, a revue of tunes from movies, broadway, radio and vaudeville; <strong><em>Over<\/em><\/strong><strong><em> There<\/em><\/strong>, our revue of tunes created to bolster our country and honor our troops; <strong><em>Dawn of a New Day<\/em><\/strong> &#8211; Songs of the World&#8217;s Fairs, a fantastic collection of little-known songs by well known composers created for the World&#8217;s Fairs of the 1930s.\u00a0This show includes a marvelous narration created by Mr. Dwight Blocker Bowers, curator at the American History Museum of the Smithsonian.
